What a gem of a place. The exterior of the building is a little run down but we were so pleased with the room. Extremely clean and well equipped, nice decor too.Plenty of tea/coffee sachets, some orange juice and water. The towels in the bathroom were quality! Then what a lovely surprise when we went to the kitchen in the morning. Such a variety of good quality drinks/ breakfast items to choose from. This place is an absolute bargain.
A staff-less hotel was a new experience! The appearance from outside does not reflect well on the establishment. The inside greatly exceeded expectations. Very clean and well maintained. Self-service breakfast was good the first day. Room spotless and well equipped. Two moans - Small moan. The kitchen was not restocked over the weekend leading to potential food shortage. Big moan. The heating in the room was on and not adjustable. Best described as hotter than hell! If these two issues were addressed )heating a priority) I'd give it five stars. A swimming pool would be nice... :-)
Perfect for a short stay in Lincoln with plenty of free parking. The self check-in made arrival hassle free and the bed was very comfy to rest well
Great place to stay while away from home studying, good location to the cathedral. Had the studio room with kitchen, room was clean and food, tea and coffee provided
We booked before reading the reviews and then read them and were really quite nervous about staying, however, on arrival and finally accessing our rooms (slight issue with entry) we were pleasantly surprised. Spacious, clean, well equipped, comfortable bed, great shower, yes, it's not the Ritz but we'd definitely stay again. Good value for money and we found the self serve continental style breakfast was fine.
I stayed in one of the studio rooms. The room itself was adequate for my needs during a business/training trip. While it wasn’t terrible, I did notice a slight musty smell and had to defrost the freezer myself before using it. I also expected access to some of the common areas, such as the dining room, which wasn’t the case. That said, the space served its purpose, and I would consider staying here again if I return for work or training.
It's decent for the price, it's on a fairly busy road so if traffic noises bother you keep that in mind. It's entirely self service and access to a kitchen is definitely a bonus. The rooms now have mini fridges which is a bonus. Unfortunately there's a fire alarm test due in my room which I would rather not have happening during my visit. Overall my stays at the Tennyson have been a net positive. I have stayed here plenty of times and will continue to do so in the future.
I enjoy staying at the Tennyson. It suits my needs. Some of the rooms need improving but mostly excellent and at a good price.
